I haven’t been giving as many updates lately as I have previously.

That’s not related to you know what, that thing that IS ALL ENCOMPASSING at the moment, but more I’ve just been slack.

However, I have not been slack in making mashups, which is my main creative outlet at the moment now that all the comedy clubs are shut.

I’ve made a load of mashups that you can catch up on over on the mashups page, but I want to highlight a project I made this weekend that I’m quite proud of. A trio of mashups, taking the works of three artists, and rotating through each combination of the three.

It started on Friday, when I spotted a post on Reddit asking for an opinion on what would be good songs to mash with “Intro” by The xx. I had a think about it for a few hours and realised that “Californication” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers could work well.

So I went and made it… and it slapped.

I then wanted to make another Chili Peppers mashup, and came up with the idea of using Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” with “Scar Tissue”.

Then to close the loop, I wondered what JT track I could mash with The xx. The answer, it turns out, is “Suit & Tie” and “Crystalised”.
